Sequoia National Park is located about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Sequoia is stunning park, with the largest General Sherman tree, and the highest peak Mount Whitney in the contiguous United States. Sequoia was the second national park designated in USA. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks contain big trees, high peaks, and deep canyons. Although Congress created these two parks at different times, Sequoia and Kings Canyon share miles of boundary and are managed as one park. Spring and summer offers sensational hiking, horseback riding, fishing and cave tours. Winter boasts some of the finest cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding to be found in the Sierras.
